The texture of Nightfood reminded me of a very pleasant version of a classic low fat “ice milk” (showing my age, since in 1994 the FDA ruled “ice milk” could be sold as “light ice cream”). This had that same kind of fresh, clean taste.
While Nightfood has been developed with two sleep experts Dr. Michael Breus and Dr. Michael Grandner, the company is very transparent about their product in that it’s not intended as a sleep aid. It’s more a late night snack that will not cause sleep disturbance from digestive upset, and which may help along relaxation with some supporting minerals (notably magnesium and zinc) and enzymes. The low calorie treats are higher in protein and fiber while being lower in sugar and fat.
I tried both the Cookies and Dreams flavor and the Milk and Cookie Dough flavor. I’m going to try the others as well, especially the more simple flavors which may be more appropriate for my friends who are allergic or sensitive to some of the extras in the two flavors I tried.
Going to have a little now before I get ready for bed – I especially enjoy Nightfood on nights when I need to wind down a little earlier when I’m planning to start the next day earlier!
