Noticed that some of you are putting together some very smart combinations of kettlebells, but not everyone may understand the same gift-giving logic.
If you’re in the continental US, then now is the time to take advantage of Dragon Door’s sale – it’s ending tomorrow at noon central (11/29/16 1PM Eastern). As many of us already know, the cost of shipping a heavy kettlebell or a couple of reasonable sized ones can add up VERY quickly… and the shipping on the large, sturdy and totally worth it freestanding pull-up bar is nothing to ignore. It’s heavy and it’s oversized.
So! A little last minute, but if you need help putting together what literally could be the package deal gift for someone who’s interested in getting serious about their strength, I’ve prepared a little guide for you. Please note that the gift “kit” recommendations are my opinions, but that they’re based on a lot of experience with the products, ideas, and modalities of RKC, RKC-II, PCC for the past several years training and coaching.
First off! The classic venerable “Which Dragon Door kettlebell do I buy?” chart :
Kettlebell Starter Guide | ||
You: | Starting Kettlebell | A Useful Set |
Average Woman | 8kg (18lbs) | 8kg, 12kg, 16kg |
Strong Woman | 12kg (26lbs) | 12kg, 16kg, 20kg |
Average Man | 16kg (35lbs) | 16kg, 20kg, 24kg, 32kg |
Stronger than Average Man | 20kg (44lbs) | 20kg, 24kg, 32kg |
Very Strong Man | 24kg (53lbs) | 24kg, 32kg, 40kg |
Hope that helps!!
The Dragon Door books are also included in the 10% off and free ship deal to continental US…. so you might want to consider these gift ideas:

Has someone in your life talked about registering for an HKC, RKC, SCC, or PCC? Those workshops can be literally a life changing experience and the catalyst for self-renewal and even a career change! But before that even, if you have someone in your life who is really really really into their exercise and loves it, you may want to consider gifting them a workshop too.
We’ve had so many enthusiasts at the workshops show up for their own enjoyment and knowledge — people who aren’t instructors or trainers at all, but who include MDs, DMDs, Chiros, psychiatrists, breakdancers, architects, etc. I could go on and on… just wanted to remind you that while the courses were originally intended for instructors, people who love kettlebell training, calisthenics, and want to be at their peak will also love the workshops. The workshops are not included in the Cyber Monday deals, but they would be an incredible, thoughtful gift for someone.
Likewise, if you do get the Bodyweight Master pull-up bar and need help assembling it, I have a video about that and I check in frequently online if you might need help–just ask in the comments section below! 🙂
