Hanging with Josh Hillis… Hanging Pull Up Bar Complexes, and more!

May 9, 2015 By Adrienne Harvey Leave a Comment

Josh Hillis, fellow RKC, fat loss expert, author of the 21-Day Kettlebell Swing Challenge (of which some of you have done!), the System Six Easy Fat Loss Program, is also a super cool guy!  He’s very active on twitter and facebook, so look him up – especially if you’re using one of his programs – I’ve been witness to, and participant in many lively and motivating discussions with Josh and the people using his programs.  It’s all a ton of fun.   Anyhow, check out his blog, there are some amusing celebrity workouts, tons of tips, ideas and pointers for getting the fitness results you want.  And it’s not all about fat loss either, even though that’s the title of his blog (Lose Stubborn Fat) – it’s great stuff and you should go read/bookmark it: https://joshsgarage.typepad.com

(Holy moly there are a lot of links in that paragraph…)

Josh asked me to write a guest piece after a particularly fun discussion we had on either Facebook or twitter—I don’t even remember—but it was essentially about the power of complexes as a workout structure, and that I felt like timed hangs were the opposite of overhead kettlebell carries (which can also be made into a really cool complex – which I need to send to him… didya hear that, Josh??).  Really glad that he shared the article today, because I’ve been working on a real-tooth-gnasher of a blog post that talks again about—gasp—FEELINGS on the INTERNET!  So of course I’m more than happy to post about Josh’s blog instead.   Don’t worry, the tooth-gnasher is still on it’s way, this will just allow me to obsessively pick over each word for another 48 hrs or so.

Here’s the link: Pullup Bar Hang Complexes

Obviously I had a WHOLE LOT of inspiration from people like Pavel Tsatsouline, Al Kavadlo, Paul “Coach” Wade and others – here’s a little handy box so you can check out and reference the same resources:

  • Naked Warrior
  • Convict Conditioning
  • Convict Conditioning 2 (especially for hangs)
  • Raising the Bar – incredible!!!!

Right… so it’s time for more Hanging Leg Raises throughout the day today and maybe a Dragon Flag or two off the bottom of the couch… I’m just happy I can do those at ALL!!! 🙂
