Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder?

June 16, 2013 By Adrienne Harvey Leave a Comment

Feels like we’ve been a little out of touch with each other lately, but I promise to stay in town for a couple weeks at least. The schedule has been pretty wild this month, not that I’m complaining. Not one bit. NOPE! Anyway, in case you haven’t heard, the first ever PCC (Progressive Calisthenics Certification) Instructor Workshop last weekend was not only a ton of fun, but a great success. There’s a blog post below that’s the first of many recaps on the way. So please feel free to leave comments there for things you’d like me to cover. Of course I won’t be able to grant all requests, but let’s hear from you! While I’m on my way home from another event I happened to have a layover in Detroit where while checking email I happened to look up and see something unexpected… Obviously the person reclining in the background is not me, as I don’t own socks that are not black, and well, wouldn’t be caught dead napping in an airport (if you see me “napping” in an airport that means something is very wrong… ) Oddly enough I actually really like good airports, MSP being the current favorite with some great restaurant choices and all kinds of coffee and snacks etc. But even when they don’t have free internet, it’s no biggie to fire up the hotspot and deploy the entire “mobile office”

In the Detroit airport (connection) just now I found a giant plate full of gyro meat and roasted seasoned vegetables, plus a little cup of lentil soup. If I hadn’t, in the backpack are all three flavors of Beyond Organic Z-Bars (which were a HUGE hit with everyone I’ve shared them with so far — even self-professed “ewwww healthy food!??!” people) and a package of Beyond Organic BBQ flavor beef jerky (this is a subtle form of BBQ flavor as I normally don’t like that in beef jerky… this is a rare exception and it is YUMMY!). Without drumming up too much stuff to be accountable for later, there are some new things in the works for YOU — the reader of this site!!! To start with, I’ve begun to revive https://www.giryagirl.tv — and plan to do more vlogging for you as well. They’ll be short etc at first because with all honestly, I’m not terribly comfortable with the format – and until this morning, the Youtube Capture app was uploading everyone’s videos to youtube UPSIDE DOWN!!! (will do further testing soon so stay tuned LOL.) Also a whole lot of other things in the works as well. It’s time for espresso though….

Check out the Official Report of the PCC workshop on the Progressive Calisthenics Blog! Really good stuff – and some pictures of some people you’ll probably recognize 🙂 Hmmm after lunch digests I might have to accidentally on purpose practice a few of my favorite bodyweight exercises… During a delay in Memphis a few days ago, I did a few pistols and a handstand when no one was looking… during a break at the business conference this weekend I mighta maybe did some push up variations, handstands, pistols, and when no one was looking a couple one hand handstands…. not enough to sweat of course… was “business casual” after all, but it kept me from getting overly antsy….
