As many of you from real life may already know, I’ve been a huge fan of Tokelau coffee, and was super happy to get to be one of their first Ambassadors – in fact before I even started in that official capacity I may have even given you a packet of Tokelau MCT coffee if we’ve hung out recently. Tokelau is my go-to for coffee on the go (and when are we not on the go) out of town and also back home. My work backpack always contains the following at a bare minimum: 1-2 Tokelau packets, MacBook charger, Dual USB Charger, backup batteries, micro tripod, RX Bar or Raw Rev Glo bar, low sugar dark chocolate, notebook, pen, computer, file folders for clients of the day.
Even though I really use the heck out of my coworking membership, sometimes people stop with the coffee earlier than I’d like – so OUT COMES THE TOKELAU. Or maybe I need a bit more power than the otherwise tasty coffee in a given Skyclub at the airport. Or maybe like this morning I just couldn’t bring myself to have to hear the coffee grinder… so I had Tokelau! It’s also just fantastic as an alternative to the weak hotel “in room coffee” that always skeeves me out … who touched this, did they wash their hands? Has anything else other than water been in this little machine?!?! With Tokelau I just need hot water. I have one friend who says he just mixes it with hot tap water (WAT?!?) and that it’s still good.
Gave some to my rad landlord because he’s an avid boater (yachter? I dunno it’s a big boat) and this seems like a super easy way to get the first cup of what I would imagine is much needed boat-based coffee going that much easier. It’s in my “hurricane or crap weather off grid readiness” pack, and imagine how much easier it would be for camping out… I mean I love my little “off-grid barista” kit I put together but this is at least 1,000x easier and faster.
I like both versions that Tokelau currently sells: the pure Coffee and MCT aka Mighty Morning Blend and the Freedom Blend (with collagen protein). While both blend very easily, I find I can get a really great almost-latte-like froth going on the Mighty Morning Blend if I stir with enough enthusiasm or have a heat proof shake-able container. The Mighty Morning blend clocks in at 70 calories and the Freedom Blend with 60. You may want to choose one over the other if you’re being super strict with your macros – I’m not worried about that level of accuracy right now. They’re both dairy free and easy to digest.
Tokelau is a really cool company as well – they’re a veteran-owned business and donate 5% of their profits to organizations that help veterans. Read about their health mission how the Tokelau business got started: Tokelau’s Mission.
Tokelau recently let me run a giveaway for a 10 pack box of the Tokelau Freedom Blend (MCT and Collagen Protein). The contest ended Thursday January 23rd, but I am leaving the related posts below because the first one demonstrates how well it mixes and the second one is pretty entertaining – or at least I hope it is!
Even if you missed the giveaway, I still have a really good deal for you, and it’s only available if you use my special link here:
