First off – hope you’re taking some time to honor our veterans today on Veteran’s Day – a big shout out and thank you to all veterans!
It was a busy time last week – but I wanted to kind of recap some of it here, if you missed a few items from Facebook etc.
HUGE congratulations to my good friend and fellow Floridian, Laurel Blackburn – she was promoted to RKC Team Leader this past week!!! Laurel has been a fantastic friend ever since we’ve met through the RKC, we’ve already had all kinds of adventures (just the surface: sled + prowler pushing all up hill in Tallahassee, 48kg kettlebell swings, strongman feats with Bud Jeffries, grocery store destruction, not to mention the gallons and gallons of coffee and espresso we’ve drank!) Check out her unique blog, SuperStrongNana.com and see how she’s changing grandparenting forever.
Promoted to Senior RKC is Andrew Read of Australia, who I finally met in Seattle at a Primal Move certification. Andrew has an incredible list of accomplishments, a no-nonsense attitude, and he writes cool stuff, so pay attention to him!
Max Shank, who you will no doubt recognize from the Convict Conditioning DVD series is now a Master RKC instructor, along with martial arts and kettlebell expert Phil Ross – who I am scheduled to interview for you VERY soon. I had a really fun lunch with Phil Ross and Mike Krivka last year by chance at the MSP airport after we had all attended the first ever Dragon Door Bodyweight Workshop – these guys know their stuff – and they’re hilarious too!
Here’s an updated list of interviews of fitness professionals and experts I’ve interviewed for Dragon Door – be sure to check in often, as more are in the works! Interviews on Dragon Door – Max Shank is in the list of interviews there so be sure to read up on him.
Speaking of bodyweight stuff – I did a little “check in” on a long term goal – the full on “human flag” aka the “press flag” from Convict Conditioning Vol 2 I’m not there yet, but I’m a LOT further along than expected. Even more exciting is the fact that my clients are learning to do the clutch flag – one of my still total favorite moves – and they are really picking it up fast. What do you think?
You may recall some time ago I had Jury Duty and made up a workout based on the area around the courthouse. Turns out my good friend, HKC, and aspiring RKC, Janelle had a similar experience – and I encouraged her to write up her workout as well! on her site, primalburgher.com
So it’s fairly well known that I’m more of a food person than a supplement/meal replacement shake person – but here’s an exception to that rule – finally got around to reviewing what I think is one of the very top protein powders on the market right now – Triton Nutrition’s Vital Vegan Protein – there’s even a goofy video made with that “Alton Brown” camera bracket that gets clamped into the cabinet: Product Review: Triton Nutrition Vital Vegan Protein – Vanilla Also be sure to snag the discount code on that page if you’re curious enough to place an order 🙂
