Recently discovered that I can do a few one arm push ups, and amusingly I seem to do them more easily with my non-dominant hand. As I was telling some friends the other day, even though I hadn’t been specifically training for one arm push ups, I had been doing a LOT more work with the Neuro-Grips for higher rep push ups (that in itself is another notable accomplishment) and generally stepping up with my training in a different direction. While I consider myself to be in “long term maintenance with gradual small improvements” I will cycle my training around every few weeks by focusing on a general aspect of fitness (strength, strength endurance, skills training, or a blend of some sort). It’s necessary for me to keep things at a fairly high level though as I regularly need to demo and teach a wide variety of skills. 🙂 Besides this stuff is super fun, and the constant challenges are welcome and in some way rejuvenating on a certain mental and physical level.
Forgive my secondhand iPhone5 and its eternal struggle with weird lighting situations (After I meet a non-related self-imposed deadline on a certain high priority task, I PROMISE to finally get out the cool, three soft-box video lighting kit I bought several months ago then stashed away safely because I have been too busy to bother with it yet).
In other news, some of you are continuing to enjoy the “unpacking this week’s organic fruit and vegetables” videos, so the one from last week is displayed below.
NOW… If you are just curious about the mysterious sounding Arkansas Black Apples, the last video is a short one just about them. They are DELICIOUS and probably my current favorite apple. For whatever reason over the past few years I’ve really gotten into specialty apples and all of their subtle flavors. (Favorites include: pink lady apples, pink pearl apples, honey crisp apples, Arkansas black apples, and the old old favorite granny smith).
