I love the short ingredient list and the lack of soy and sugar. It’s a great option for people who have difficulties digesting whey or who are trying to avoid dairy products for whatever reason. An added bonus is the use of sunflower lecithin.
I’ve consumed 1lb of both the Ancient Cacao and Aztec Vanilla and both have a mild but natural flavor, no off-tastes or weird aftertastes.
Unfortunately this otherwise wonderful beef and egg based protein powder does require quite a bit of effort to blend, and even so, sometimes you will still get a crunchy bite or two in a given shake.
When mixed with warm or hot water (I sometimes like to make protein versions of hot chocolate, and wanted to see if this helped the mixability issue) some of it mixed well, but some of it also seemed to “cook up” a bit. I’d recommend using collagen peptides for hot chocolate based protein drinks instead (recipe coming soon… though it’s very simple, and you can add the peptides to any favorite hot beverage).
Gloriously short ingredient list: Grass fed beef protein, egg protein, natural flavoring, stevia leaf extract, sunflower lecithin
