Just checking in for a second, because the bath water really is too hot…. – I’ve got another early (though not painfully so*) flight tomorrow, but I get to see more of my fantastic friends from the RKC at the first ever Dragon Door Bodyweight Workshop – for those of you who know, this is the other type of training that I love – and the other half of what I do – kettlebells, bodyweight. No weight machines, smith machines, etc – no thanks – though on occasion some deadlift and “how many times can I bench my weight” barbell sessions are fun for variety. JUST can’t wait to see the progressions at this thing – and bring them all back for my clients and myself. Silly admission: the promo page for the workshop has a picture of Pavel hanging by one arm in an L-sit from a bar… yes I tried it… I had to, there was no other option. Yes its fun, and its very difficult.
Having recently purchased Convict Conditioning 2, I’m even more fired up about bodyweight exercise than normal (hard to imagine, isn’t it?). Not to mention all the seriously inspiring people leading and attending the workshop. Other than my childhood experiences at Summer camp, I can’t think of a more fun group of people.
I should also tell you that there are some exciting things coming your way – a guest article from quite the expert on a subject that effects 110% of all kettlebell enthusiasts, and I’ve been told there are a bunch of photos, etc coming with it too. And of course loads of product reviews – especially if I stay awake on the flight tomorrow – I want to read and read and read. Convict Conditioning 2 the eBook is on my netbook and ready to go. It’ll also figure into discussion during beginners class and small group breaks – because I know how much you all love to hear me go on about the exciting info that occasionally keeps me up until 4AM (see chart below) because I can’t put it down (I’m talking to you too, CC2). You can also look forward to some recap blogs of the Bodyweight Workshop, AND if I’m really on a roll, there’s going to be a little thing just for you fitness professionals out there. But always, please please please feel free to send me questions etc. If I can’t answer them myself, I know who to ask! 🙂
*Morning Pain Chart:
- 4AM – Always makes me think of that Leonard Cohen song, “Famous Blue Raincoat” and is neither an optimal time to go to sleep or to wake up. In my world this is the first of the hours that will throw off the next 24hrs if not delt with properly
- 5AM – I’d really rather not… see 4AM
- 6AM – Fine, whatever, I’ll do it.
- 7AM – Early-ish, but civilized
- 8AM – Lights…Camera…Eggs…BACON!
- 9AM – Did someone say espresso?!
- 10AM – Breakfast 2
- 11AM – Have gotten the workload of one sane person done by this time.
