A few days ago I had the honor of being the first ever guest on PCC Team Leader, Matt Shifferle's Red Delta Project Podcast. Once again, as when he was recently the guest on MY podcast, we had a ton of fun discussing some of our favorite topics, calisthenics, the PCC, great food, training strategies and more. At the risk of bragging, it seems like we get around to some … [Read more...] about I was a guest on the Red Delta Project Podcast, Plus a Bodyweight Only Workout, and a Video

Descent Into Strength: A Quick Intermediate Level Bodyweight and Kettlebell Workout
This is a workout I do (there are several variations) when there's not a lot of time, but I want to get a reasonable amount of strength work/practice done along with some conditioning as well. It's cobbled together from the ideas of several sources, and is easily adjustible to whereever you are. I'm so fond of it and its variations that it is scrawled on a small piece of … [Read more...] about Descent Into Strength: A Quick Intermediate Level Bodyweight and Kettlebell Workout
The 6PM Shred Kettlebell, Bodyweight and Battling Rope Workout
On a lark I decided to try the 21 Day Kettlebell Swing Challenge from Josh Hillis - I needed some variety and direction with the conditioning portion of my personal workouts - and thought it looked like a whole lot of fun. I'll be varying the program a little to make room for my favorite bodyweight practice items that happen throughout the day, but should be staying true enough … [Read more...] about The 6PM Shred Kettlebell, Bodyweight and Battling Rope Workout
Upstairs, Downstairs… a Workout for Kettlebells, Stairwell, and Bodyweight
This workout certainly isn't for everyone since it uses a "found staircase" I suppose a stepmill could be used for it, but part of the "fun" of the workout is self-regulating how fast you're taking the stairs, and sharing heckles with your training partner related to who has the inside or outside of the staircase.... Here in Florida we don't have many buildings with a ton of … [Read more...] about Upstairs, Downstairs… a Workout for Kettlebells, Stairwell, and Bodyweight
We *Can* Stand the Heat…. Kettlebell and Bodyweight Workout
It's been a crazy few weeks... full tilt. If you noticed for a while there I was kind of collecting selfies with people you may know from the underground strength and conditioning world... then I came back home and hit the writing-ground-running so hard that one of my neighbors actually said, "Oh you're still here!? Good!! I thought you moved away!" Oops. In reality, I had … [Read more...] about We *Can* Stand the Heat…. Kettlebell and Bodyweight Workout
A Fun P.E. Inspired Outdoor Kettlebell and Bodyweight Variation for Small Groups–with VIDEO
We've been having a ton of fun occasionally using a giant soccer field for our small group workouts. A little bit ago, I'd received a SandBell from Hyperwear and was inspired to think about "P.E. games" and related activities that might be fun to add to our workouts... Then I found my old stack of 20 orange plastic cones, and the following workout variations came about. In … [Read more...] about A Fun P.E. The Doorbuster: An MMA Timing Inspired Workout for Kettlebell, Bodyweight, and Optional Ultimate Sandbag
While I was working on Mike Medrano's interview for Dragon Door last week, the idea of creating a conditioning workout based on the timing of an MMA fight was just too intriguing not to try. So, on Black Friday in total rebellion of the usual activities most folks were doing, we headed out to the park with a workout I jokingly named "the Doorbuster." Get Ups feature … [Read more...] about The Doorbuster: An MMA Timing Inspired Workout for Kettlebell, Bodyweight, and Optional Ultimate Sandbag
A Small Group Kettlebell and Bodyweight Workout, Plus Q+A with Forest Vance on Kettlebell Challenge Workouts 2.0
With the threat of nasty weather once again, we opted to have class at the cool East Coast Martial Arts Supply dojo. This was a simple but interesting workout which I've adapted for online listing (removed a new ab drill that I need to make an explanatory video for before listing it here - or need to discover what in the world it might actually be called?!) We started with … [Read more...] about A Small Group Kettlebell and Bodyweight Workout, Plus Q+A with Forest Vance on Kettlebell Challenge Workouts 2.0
Kettlebell and Bodyweight Circuit Workout – Descent into Madness (Descending Ladder)
Here's a fun one from the kettlebell small group yesterday. We reinforced the "kettlebell wagon" to make it more heavy duty - while it's rated for 700lbs, the manufacturers seem to have thought we'd only use it for bags of mulch, not heavy iron kettlebells... a precision cut piece of plywood did the trick, so look for more heavy swing/deadlift workouts in the near … [Read more...] about Kettlebell and Bodyweight Circuit Workout – Descent into Madness (Descending Ladder)
