As you probably already know, my Beyond Organic Founder’s Pack arrived this past weekend and I had entirely too much fun unpacking it on video. Also depicted on the video was putting 2lbs of the green fed ground beef in the freezer and one in the refrigerator. Overnight the package of ground beef in the fridge thawed nicely right in time for lunch. Its perfectly square shape lent it to easy division for the making of sliders!
What you need:
- 1 package Beyond Organic Green Fed Beef
- Your choice of Beyond Organic raw milk cheese
- Head of organic Boston bib lettuce
- 2-3 ripe organic tomatoes
- Sea salt, fresh cracked pepper, or your favorite burger seasonings
- selection of mustards, ketchup, mayo…
- optional sliced items: onions, pickles…
Forget Krystal, Forget White Castle…. these are way better for you and about a zillion times more delicious (science fact!). First off, divide the block of thawed ground beef into 4 equal parts, divide each of those into halves. Halve them again. Form little patties from the 16 pieces – season with sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper. OR use a sprinkle of your favorite seasoned salt – you may consider making a few different flavors – maybe some Cajun spiced ones? The sky is the limit – be creative, but also remember that you want to make sure everyone can get a good taste of green fed beef – it is a slightly different flavor for most people and we want to make sure thye get to experience that. Besides they can always add their own toppings later.
I like to make just about everything in Grandma’s trusty cast iron skillet, but use what you have – these could also be made in an electric skillet if you are in a demo situation. A medium temperature should be sufficient as these little patties will cook quickly – you should only need to flip them once – you can cook them in 2 batches so that they don’t crowd. While you are cooking your little burger patties, someone else can be preparing the small tomato slices, and lettuce. I prepared the lettuce leaves by removing the stem portion and cutting the larger leaves into 1/4s. The cheese is simply some of the Beyond Organic Raw Milk Cheddar cut into squares. A fun idea for demo purposes might be to make a little “make your own slider” buffet style bar with a platter or individual bowls for the lettuce, tomatos, cheese, pickles, onions, etc. Its also great because you can let up to 16 people experience this delicious product WITH the cheese with one single package of beef.
Enjoy!!!!!!!
