Here’s a collection of videos for you today! First off – if you aren’t already convinced enough (or need help convincing others in your life that you aren’t nuts) that we need to really be careful about what we eat, and where it comes from, then check out this very interesting TED talk from an unlikely “real food” advocate. I think the only thing she and I have in common are gender and the occasional type-A tendency… but we agree on food safety for different but important reasons.
I especially like the powerful image she puts forth, “I thought about all the sippy cups I filled with milk, and the milk I poured over my husband’s cereal” and how very real and very terrifying the reality of today’s conventional food is. High quality, non-GMO food is an absolute top priority in my own life, and sometimes folks say that it’s easier for me because I’m not raising children etc. However, I’d say if you are, this video should really illustrate how CRUCIAL it is to make sure your family’s food is safe and healthy. Luckily it’s getting easier to obtain what you need – it takes some creativity and some doing, and a little extra $, but I think of it more as an investment. Imagine knowing for sure that you are providing yourself and your family with needed nutrients, great tastes, and NOT poisoning them with foreign proteins and toxins. It’s worth it. Absolutely.

How can you start today?
Look up your local organic food co-op, check into membership and/or having a box of fresh produce delivered to your door every week. Many of these programs are surprisingly affordable and can be a source of fun/creativity/convenience. It’s also a great excuse to try new fruits/veg/recipes and turn meals into thought provoking exploration! And, since sometimes getting local organic meat and especially dairy can be problematic, I’d suggest you do what I’ve done and really get involved with my Beyond Organic team on at least some level. As a Preferred Customer you can get the same discount as someone “in the business” but without feeling obligated to get others in on it too. Granted… what usually happens is people will see you with these incredible foods and will want some too. Especially if you start sharing them.
Here’s what arrived today for me via FedEx and I am as always totally thrilled!
Today’s Total Haul:
- 2 bags sprouted 7 seed “powder” (for fiber and extra nutrition in my snacks and occasional protein shakes)
- 2 triple-mint lip balm (I love the pomegranate-berry but wanted to try the mint too)
- 12 bottles of the super favorite plain Amasai
- 4 New York strip steaks
- 4 Ribeye steaks
Fortunately, I still have a good bit of raw cheddar and raw havarti left, a precious FEW of the delectable Z-bars (sooo good for breakfast, snack and with coffee or tea) along with the Summer sausage, beef jerky, and Chee-Z crackers (all three flavors reviewed here). Since they expanded the product line, I have been even more delighted with Beyond Organic, and if you are possibly interested (local or anywhere in the USA) in learning more please do not hesitate to contact me!
And if you needed another reason to “Go Beyond Organic,” the following video illustrates something that you’ll potentially be able to avoid!!! (a little language)
