It’s almost hard to know where to begin today! All kinds of great things this past week, so let’s start from the beginning. I am beyond honored to be one of the instructors for the brand new Progressive Calisthenics Certification Workshop with Al and Danny Kavadlo. The program is 3 days of intensive work on all our favorites from Paul Wade’s Convict Conditioning programs. Please click the banner below to check it all out. I’ve seen the top-secret syllabus and all I can say is WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!! It’s brought a new intensity to my own training, because I want to be able to keep up with those Kavadlo brothers in terms of instruction, demonstration etc. Seriously. This workshop is going to be incredible – so if you’re a bodyweight exercise enthusiast as much as an instructor, consider attending.
Next item – I conduct interviews for Dragon Door, and really enjoy that entire process. Hearing people’s stories is incredibly inspiring on a personal level, and being able to share them in this way has been a wonderful experience. The interview released today was especially interesting – Gus Petersen, who you may recognize as the “Kettlebell Juggling Guy” who came up with the K.A.T. System. I didn’t know it, but last November, Gus endured a major stroke – and managed to recover in what must be a record short time. When we were speaking over the phone, I could hardly believe the miracle I was hearing. Needless to say, hearing about his story of recovery and the origins of the juggling system, I’m now REALLY intrigued by the idea of kettlebell juggling. I saw Gus demonstrate some amazing 2 kettlebell moves at the RKC Workshop in Chicago some time ago.
Finally, I managed to reverse engineer a Paula Deen Southern cornbread stuffing recipe – using “cornbread” made with eggs, butter (of course!), coconut flour, and almond flour (and some other things too), it was so good that I will make sure and perfect the recipe so that YOU can try it at home as well. It was a good reminder that I need to really knuckle down and finish up the special cookbook and recipe-engineering system that I’ve been working on for the last 2 years. These will be the exact recipes and strategies I’ve been using to achieve and maintain my year-round strong and lean physique. Wish I had a projected date for the release, but I don’t want to say one thing and then be delayed again. It’s been intense around here in terms of workload—granted it’s all stuff I love, so this is NOT any form of complaint.
Anyway, I hope you’re having a great time with family and friends this holiday – with New Year’s also coming up, here’s a handy guide from last year about staying on track.
