Ideas about indoor kettlebell and bodyweight workouts

June 8, 2012 By Adrienne Leave a Comment

48kg

I keep checking to see if any of the neighbors are building an ark.  Seriously... the rain—all week... rain rain rain rain rain.   AAAGGGHHHH!!!!!   This is especially annoying for people who like to walk to their errand destinations, who like to practice beginner and clutch flags on any available safe pole, who like to do fingertip pull ups off of various pieces of … [Read more...] about Ideas about indoor kettlebell and bodyweight workouts

Amasai Calm

Poking around the Beyond Organic website yesterday, and placing the rest of my order I discovered that they have UPDATED the Amasai variety pack to include the new flavors. (Mom's Mother's Day gift was the first part of this month's order - and you should be very very envious of what she received.)   Those of you who have tried Amasai know of it's incredible nutritional impact, … [Read more...] about Forgive me, I couldn’t resist…. A Blast from the Past! Unearthed from 2002-2004 Original Vegetarian and Vegan Recipe Book!

May 7, 2012 By Adrienne Leave a Comment

Back in the early 2000s, I used to give a vegetarian/vegan cooking demo and lecture with a friend at a popular yoga studio.  I'd written up a ton of recipes and helpful hints to accompany the program.  It was a lengthy handout that a lot of people seemed to enjoy.   Thankfully, I found a few copies of this printout recently, as it no longer existed in "computer" form.   A … [Read more...] about A Blast from the Past! The Powerful Training Tool You May Already HAVE!

April 28, 2012 By Adrienne Leave a Comment

Did you know that besides kettlebells, a pull up bar, the occasional "evil wheel", battling ropes, and some fun things from my friends at StrongerGrip.com, my training arsenal also includes something surprising—a video camera. This is a tip I picked up on waaay back in the days of VHS and Hi-8. Videotape yourself performing whatever movement or exercise you're trying to … [Read more...] about The Powerful Training Tool You May Already HAVE!

The Ultimate Rebellion: Rejecting Punishment and Deprivation

April 1, 2012 By Adrienne Leave a Comment

Something had been bugging me for a VERY long time.  Now, I've figured some of it out, after the ideas from some amazing conversations with people I consider to be some of the biggest minds in fitness have congealed.   On the left side of the desk is this little heap of paper bits: brainstorms, workouts I've written for clients, myself, or the small group, a few receipts and SD … [Read more...] about The Ultimate Rebellion: Rejecting Punishment and Deprivation

I'm still playing around with this new camera and it's super fun full HD video capabilities.. not to mention this completely awesome USA-made Richmond Artiflex chef knife from ChefKnivesToGo.com   Anyhow - check out how you can make your next bottle of sparking water a little more special (works for still water too). What you were waiting for… The Bowling Ball Incident….

March 26, 2012 By Adrienne Leave a Comment

As promised.... Strongman legend, Bud Jeffries dropping a bowling ball on me!  Don't try this at home, I do extensive direct (hanging leg raises, flag progressions/regressions) and indirect (kettlebell, etc) abdominal training, so I can really brace very hard.  Oddly enough this was actually kind of fun in a weird way.   The bowling ball weighs 16lbs... If for some … [Read more...] about What you were waiting for… The Bowling Ball Incident….
