Small post today as I’ll be posting a movie-theme workout designed for my small group class today – should be a fun one!
A short visit with my friends at Meat House today yielded some of their criminally thick bacon (that’s my name for it) sirloin steak, and how convenient – they had some great looking spaghetti squashes (did someone tip them off that it’s Squash Week at GiryaGirl.com??).
So – the spaghetti squash was once again baked whole in a 375 Degree F oven – wrapped as-is in aluminum foil for 1 hour. After cutting it in half, scooping out the insides and putting 3/4 of it in a container in the refrigerator I decided to see what else was hanging around the kitchen. Grass fed ground beef…. Montechevre goat blue cheese… hmmmm. I put one strip of the criminally thick bacon in a medium hot skillet and cooked it up – removing and eating it for a snack before putting 4 1/4lb beef patties into the now nicely greased and hot cast iron skillet – when they were done I set them aside and added a portion of the spaghetti squash “noodles” to the pan drippings and stirred them around – making sure they were super hot before plating them. On top of that went some crumpled extremely flavorful goat blue cheese – and on top of that, 1 very hot burger patty. Having eaten the patty the melty blue cheese seeped into the spaghetti squash and made this amazing sort of mac n cheese substitute. Pretty sure just about anyone could enjoy this flavor – I would have taken a picture but I just had to eat it immediately… one of those things…
Let me know if you try it!!!!
