So much fun checking out the newly revised, updated, and improvedcurriculum this past weekend and cheering on my fellow ! People showed up literally from all over the world. Anyway, I was reminded of a great drill and stand alone exercise that was absolutely perfect for the skill level of my small group classes - the Long . I had been wanting to teach them the push and eventually the and jerk, but we had been running into problems (those forgetful hips....). The Long is a POWERFUL full body exercise that teaches the sort of feel one has at the push without creating some bad habits.
Here's the workout (with hip hinge added in to make sure the hips don't get forgetful!)
As far as we know - and we both checked, Laurel Tallahassee Kettlebells and Boot Camps To Go and I are the only 2 female Instructors in Florida. So of course we have to meet up from time to time, and get a whole lot of fun stuff going on. This always seems to involve tons of coffee in various forms (yes, I brought my stovetop espresso maker), dark chocolate, feats of strength, multiple computers, cameras, and lots of grilled steak. Today was no slouch of a day - getting an early start at the gym - gotta say I always covet that cargo net and other various obstacles and just massive square footage Laurel hof
