Rings of Power by Mike GIllette

Rings of Power by Mike Gillette Cool new book from Mike Gillette about Ring Training for all fitness levels. Being on this shoot with Mike was like working with a real live action hero! (And I got to put a cinderblock on him too!) Mike knows his stuff and shares everything you need to know for his versatile go-anywhere ring training.  Full progressions of every exercise, workout plans, and all the know-how to take the training as far as you wish. Good stuff, and yes, that's me on the left side of the cover  :)

Interview with Rachel Cosgrove on Dragon Door, and Getting Creative with Outdoor Workouts

Rachel Cosgrove recently received the coveted I.D.E.A. Personal Trainer of the year award (2012) and has helped so many people make healthy lifestyle changes.  We had the chance to talk a little on the final day of the San Diego RKC Workshop, where she passed and became an RKC.   She shared some of the recent great success that her team at Results Fitness has had after attending an HKC.   At Results Fitness, they use the FMS as well, so it will be really cool to see how their use of kettlebell training continues to evolve with their facility.   Check out the full interview with Rachel Cosgrove on

Some Observations About the Recent Interview with Tom Davin, CEO of 5.11 Tactical, Primal Move, and Flexible Steel

Really enjoyed interviewing Tom Davin of 5.11 Tactical for Dragon Door a few weeks ago at the San Diego RKC.  One of the things that I noticed right away was Tom's incredible enthusiasm for both what he does professionally and personally within his own life.  This is a pattern I keep seeing in people who are experiencing success in their life and/or business—a genuine enthusiasm, curiosity, and a need to share.   Even if you aren't in a tactical or fitness field, we can all stand to learn more about leadership.

Some catching up again - Paul "Coach" Wade Interview, Beginning Mace Swings

I am so honored that Paul "Coach" Wade agreed to an interview for the Dragon Door website - especially considering how big a fan I am of the Convict Conditioning programs and products.   SO please check out this interview with Paul "Coach" Wade RIGHT NOW.  No matter who you are, or where you are in your training, you'll probably get some helpful hint from Paul.   This is real world, real deal info.   Please let me know what you think after reading it! :)

RKC-related interviews by Adrienne Harvey of published Elsewhere

I've had some fantastic opportunities to meet some amazing people in the fitness community this year - and these interviews capture the essence of these conversations, dialogs, etc.   I have literally come away from every interview with game changing information.  Hope that you enjoy them too - as they are published around the 'net they'll be cataloged here.   Right now most of them are Dragon Door related, but who knows what the future may hold!   Are you an important person in the strength and fitness community?  Have we talked?  Do we need to talk?   Let me know!   Listening to and capturing these insights and experiences has not only been fun, but I've already been incorporating the knowledge into my own training and t

Mini update - Ageless Body Workshop, Tommy Blom Interview

Just a quick update because I need to rest up a little - BUT I wanted to let you all know that Andrea Du Cane's brand new Ageless Body Workshop is FANTASTIC!  Tons of great mobility and flexibility drills that are great for the baby boomer crowd as well as this 34 year old (although sometimes I am the equivalent of two very evil 17 year olds but that's another story).  Anyway - the workshop continues tomorrow - and I'll blog more about it as we progress.  So far, great breakdowns of some very powerful drills - and how to adapt them to virtually anyone.   Extremely valuable info - and I hope she gives this workshop again somewhere near you.   Tomorrow we begin the kettlebell portion - looking forward to that for sure
